Systematization of Detailed Scheduling
The focus was on systematically capturing established decision-making logic: Which criteria take priority? How are setup changes, throughput times, machine utilization and delivery dates weighed against each other? How are special cases handled consistently?
The answers to these questions were embedded in the system through defined parameters and rules, ensuring that proven prioritizations are mapped reliably and reproducibly.
MES-supported planning as part of the overall transformation
The dmaic MES has been in productive use at Stiegelmeyer for several years and forms the digital foundation for production control. Automated scheduling, including dsProSequence for optimized order sequencing, was integrated into the existing architecture as a targeted functional extension.
Employees now focus on managing exceptions and special situations while operational detailed scheduling runs automatically, consistently and scalably in the background.
